DAS DUO MASUHR - MÜRELL
For some time now, the guitarist has appeared together with the poetry enthusiast Oskar Mürell. Whether words and music alternate or are heard together, it is always a rewarding combination. Mürell’s offerings range from the provocative to the humorous and even mime; they almost always reach both the heart and the mind.
Mürell recites texts of carefully chosen German poets from across the centuries – sometimes funny, sometimes serious or challenging. Music and poetry alternate and combine, and it is a special delight to experience how the two forms complement and illuminate each other. The listener is offered an exciting interplay of word and music.
Oskar Mürell was born in Croatia and discovered his love of acting while very young. He first trod the boards in a major role at the age of eight. As a teenager and young adult he often performed main roles in plays like “Götz of Berlichen”, “William Tell”, “Outside the Door”, “Play with An Imaginary Partner” (4 one-person plays), “The Canterville Ghost” and others. His involvement with amateur theatre remains strong till the present day.
